Designer Kat Studio: I am a self taught painter / artist. I started painting in 2008, not really knowing what I would paint or how, but I was determined to create something. I strive to create and blend color to achieve a harmonious balance of light and dark to bring the viewer into my work. I am currently working with oils and loving how wonderful they spread and blend and the warmth I feel when I see them on my canvas . My creative journey has been filled with many challenges and ideas that have lead me to discover what my true passion is. But ultimately I believe the Lord has guided me. When I came across a very expressive style in layering, A technique By John, that is so close to what I originally started painting, I knew that the Lord was speaking to me. When I finish a painting I thank the Lord for his guidance for without him I am nothing, but with him I can do anything. Amen! Kathy S.
